Welcome to July, a month with a special place in my heart. It’s my birthday month (turning 43 this year!)

This past trip around the sun has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding times for me and Woodlands Healing Spa. As I reflect on our journey, I am reminded of a powerful quote by Yung Pueblo:

Running a business in South Africa comes with its own set of unique challenges. From the complexities of managing a diverse team amidst political influences and cultural differences, to dealing with escalating Eskom bills and water shortages, it’s been a rollercoaster.
 
This year, our team has grown, and with that growth, so have the challenges. HR issues can sometimes feel overwhelming, and the unpredictability of our country’s infrastructure has added to the stress. Yet, despite these hurdles, we’ve made incredible strides. Our new conference/yoga studio is up and running, our vegetable garden is thriving, and we’re making progress on our borehole project to ensure a reliable water source.
 
What keeps me going is the impact we make. We’re providing employment, supporting our community, and winning awards that affirm our efforts. Every challenge we face and overcome strengthens us and brings us closer to our goals and all of this fuels my passion for what we do.
