It’s 2021 and time to put the past behind you!

It takes a lot of strength and courage to put the past behind you, to stand up and say: “I will not let it define me” –  to push forward and create the life that you truly deserve and not focus on bad things that life handed you in the past.

Covid aside, I have been through a lot in 2020, ending it with a nice cherry of betrayal on top.

Everyone goes through difficult times in life. But it is not your difficulties that define you, but rather what you learn from them is that truly matters. How you think about the past can be an excellent teacher and a great source of motivation for learning how to move on, or it can interfere with your happiness and hold you back from living your best life.

So, how do you put the past behind you?
I only have what I have learned in the past that helps heal wounds and move on to a better and brighter future.
It starts with forgiveness. Whether it is forgiving yourself or forgiving someone or something. Forgiveness is one of the best possible things you can do to heal. If you continue to be angry about something that has happened in the past, the only person you end up hurting is yourself. So whatever disappointments you have been nursing, I encourage you to let them go.

Take time, every day, to feel grateful for everything that is good in your life. And I do mean EVERYTHING. The more you cultivate gratitude and appreciation for everything that’s good right now, the easier it will be to forget about the past.
And, remember to be grateful for the people that have made your life difficult at times – this is a hard one. But it is because of them that you have developed qualities like courage, perseverance, and compassion.

Because your thoughts determine your reality, every time you find yourself thinking about some past negativity, transform that negative thought into something positive. For example, if you’re thinking, “I can’t believe I wasted all those years on someone who betrayed me” replace it with the new thought, “I am happy and grateful that I am now free to find someone with who I can share a mutual  appreciation for one another.”

Say to yourself: “I am amazing!”, start to focus on your past successes and achievements, of which there are many, and you will be surprised how your spirits are lifting you to a newfound positive outlook.

Life lessons are good if you allow yourself to heed and learn from them. There is so much room for growth and ultimately, making better and better choices about the life you want to have.

Back to COVID-19 – Yes, we are open for business from today, the 3rd of January 2021, (with all protocols in place!)  – I trust everyone had a blessed festive season and ready to take on this new year.

My wish for 2021 is that we enter our future free to make new and better choices and decisions, letting go of what once was.
